Writing Units of Study & Grading Week of Oct.1st : This week our focus is on Opinion Writing. Each unit of study will focus on a type of writing. This year students will learn about the writing process as well as study personal narrative, fiction writing, poetry, functional writing, and expository writing. Students will keep a writing journal in class where they practice skills and write their drafts. Revised drafts will be graded for specific skills. Their final writing pieces will be graded for overall writing. In addition, there will be a notebook check for effort for each unit.
